Eine Frucht des Kulturmonats

Der Europäische Kulturmonat in Graz (24. April bis 6. Juni 1993) war der auslösende Faktor dafür, daß beim 4. Internationalen Altstadtkongreß das – leider wieder hochaktuelle -Thema des Wiederaufbaues behandelt worden ist.

In der Bilanz-Publikation, die sich sehen lassen kann, haben Außenminister Alois Mock, Kunstminister Rudolf Scholten und die EG-Kulturpolitikerin Colette Flesch die Rolle der steirischen Landeshauptstadt als Brücke zwischen den Völkern besonders herausgestellt. Das von Bürgermeister Alfred Stingl und Stadtrat Helmut Strobl initiierte kulturelle Citynetz (CCN) mit dem Kristallisationspunkt Graz setzt sich auch für Hilfsprojekte ein, z.B. in Sarajevo und Dubrovnik.

A Result of the European Month of culture

Triggered by the European Month of culture (24. April until 6 June 1993), heated discussions on reconstruction took place at the 4th International Conference on Architectural heritage.
In the conference publication, Foreign Secretary Alois Mock, the Minister of the Arts Rudolf Scholten and EC Culture Representative Colette Flesch underlined the importance of the Styrian capital as a bridge between the peoples. The Cultural City Network (CCN), an organization to encourage cultural exchange set up by Mayor Alfred Stingl and City Councillor Helmut Strobl, also supports aid projects, e.g. in Sarajevo and Dubrovnik.
